A Story “ABOUT” Mitchell Smith!

If you have been a reader of our website for the last almost 20 years you have seen plenty of articles that started off with “Story by Mitchell Smith.” My wife and I first met Mitch back in 2008 through an online G.I. Joe fan forum and online chat room. Since then he has been one of our closest friends whom we communicate with on a daily basis. He also has been the head writer for our blog since 2013. This week we lost Mitch way too soon. It is impossible to list all the ways that Mitch brightened our lives, but if you knew him, you know that he was always a bright light in everyone’s life that he touched. He loved Star Wars and G.I. Joe and vintage pop culture in general, as those of you who read our website know from reading the hundreds of articles he wrote for us. More importantly though, Mitch loved Rylee and Braydon, his two kids. Almost every conversation we had about his hobbies or what was going on in his life it would always come around to what his kids were doing, or that he was enjoying sharing his hobbies with his kids. Most people don’t know, because he never made a big deal about it, but beyond his love of 80s pop culture and his kids he also loved to volunteer to help the mentally challenged and disabled. The one thing I will never forget about Mitch, is that he loved to help others, his kindness was always at the forefront of everything he did.

So this Story is for you Mitch, I am going to miss you very much my friend, you have been like a brother to me all these years.
